Hosur, July 01, 2022: Afcons Igatpuri’s mega tunnels of the 700 km Mumbai-Nagpur Super Communication Expressway project, which are also Maharashtra’s longest and India’s widest road tunnels (8km long and 17.6m wide), have become a source of fascination. This project aims to reduce travel time between the two cities to 8-9 hours from 14-15 now. Built to negotiate the altitude difference of the Kasara Ghats, these tunnels will enthrall motorists with a drive through hills, and on a viaduct that is hoisted 60m above ground level. The Project is ahead of schedule and hopes to continue with the same tenacity and speed.

Afcons started tunnelling activities in September 2019 and completed both tunnels in September 2021. As per Afcons Execution team, Breakthroughs are special in any tunnelling project globally but achieving four of them ahead of schedule especially during Covid, makes it extra special and it would have never been possible without the Crushing Plants from ÖÁ×ðµç×Ó MPS. Timely installation and hassle-free operation of these plants delivered more than 12,00,000 lacs MT of aggregates in record time. The ÖÁ×ðµç×Ó Service & Support team were available round the clock even during the peak of pandemic.

“We installed ÖÁ×ðµç×Ó MPS 200 TPH III Stage Plant for the project. The plant was installed in September 2020 and has crossed more than 7000 hours. Even during pandemic, when there were movement restrictions in Maharashtra, ÖÁ×ðµç×Ó provided excellent service support. ÖÁ×ðµç×Ó Team worked along with us to understand our requirement and suggested suitable solutions to ensure optimum plant performance at site, exceeding our expectations,” says Mr. Mihir Mishra, J.G.M - CPE. He further adds that, “ÖÁ×ðµç×Ó utilizes advance technology of Fixed Shaft Cone Crusher which produces good quality aggregates at lowest operating cost. The Plant not only produced good quality aggregates but also high-quality sand.”
